The Bremen Lady Lions had a great showing at the Rochester Sectional on Tuesday night. Senior Harley Boocher capped off the event with a trip to the Kokomo Regional in three different events; High Jump, 100 Hurdles, and the 300 Hurdles.
Freshmen Raven White and Lydia Stamm placed in both the 100 and 200 dashes and also ran on the 4th place 4×100 relay team with Maria Hummel and Lauren Miller. Fellow Freshman Briley Libey took 6th in the 400 dash with her best time of the year and tied for 8th in the High Jump. Junior Makayla Mahoney placed 8th in the 1600 run and 6th in the 3200. Boocher stamped her ticket to the Regional placing 2nd in the High Jump, 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, and 3rd in the 300 hurdles with her best time on the year. Boocher also anchored the 4th place 4×400 relay team that included Libey, Miller, and Emma Hundt. The 4×800 relay of Natalie Gutierrez, Rachel Hall, Mahoney, and Hundt placed 4th overall. Senior Hannah Smeltzer just missed placing with her best throw in shot put. Shelby Ritter placed 5th in disc.
The senior ladies have been tremendous leaders this year and provided wonderful examples of the team credo of EXCELLENCE! Good luck to Harley at the Kokomo Regional next Tuesday starting at 6 pm.
