Bremen Boys Soccer Beats ECA in Last Second Thriller

The Lions of Bremen headed to Elkhart Christian Academy Thursday night for a game that promised to have the intensity of a sectional match the week before the tournament is to get started. Both teams had similar records against numerous opponents and were capable of playing high level soccer. From the opening whistle, the match did not disappoint with high intensity throughout. Bremen created numerous chances to score in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net. The second half continued with great play and intensity and the Lions continued to create goal scoring chances. It took until the 66th min for Bremen to breakthrough as senior captain Jared Alvarado found junior forward Nathan Schnaible on a through ball that Schnaible then expertly finished to the far post. ECA struck back with only minutes remaining in the game and it looked like it would end in a draw. As the final seconds ticked down, sophomore Alan Diaz crossed the ball to Schnaible who unleashed a shot that nestled into the back of the net just before time expired. It was truly an amazing finish to the last regular season game!
