The Bremen Lions opened sectional play in impressive fashion Friday night, defeating the Prairie Heights Panthers 49-13 to advance to the second round. Logan Moser led the Lions’ offense with a record-breaking performance, rushing for 309 yards on 32 carries and four touchdowns. Moser broke the Bremen single-game rushing record previously held by Bo Hundt, who rushed for 290 yards in 1991. Jace Pippenger added two rushing touchdowns, while Paul Miller found the end zone once. Axel Mendoza Martinez was perfect on the night, converting all seven extra-point attempts. Defensively, Nic Slusser came up with an interception to help lead the Lions’ effort. With the victory, Bremen advances to the second round of sectional play and will host the Eastside Blazers next Friday night. The Lions will look to keep their postseason run alive on their home turf!
