Bremen Athletics

As the Bremen Lions of the Boys' Soccer team prepared to take on the #2 ranked Marian Knights Thursday night, the Bremen fans packed the stands and let their voices be heard. The ROAR of the Lions was evident throughout the team introductions, the game, and even following the game. The cheering from the Lion side of the stands was incredible and the players and coaching staff are immensely grateful for the support they received all season and especially senior night and the Sectional games! The support never waivered, no matter the scoreline, and the power of the Long Green Line was evident all evening. The game was intense from the opening whistle and even though Marian found an early goal, Bremen fought and created chances of their own. Marian would get another goal close to the end of the half, but there was energy and resolve on the Bremen sideline preparing for the second half. Marian created a third goal early in the half, but the Lions' Joel Gonzalez would answer with an absolutely beautiful strike from outside the box that would bring the score to 3-1. The Bremen crowd erupted and sent a wave of hope over the players and staff. As the Lions continued to battle, Marian would show their quality and quickly capitalize on scoring opportunities created through their pressure and quick passing. Bremen ends the season with a 13-3-1 record as INSC Regular Season and Tourney Champions. They graduate nine incredible seniors who strove to build a culture of unity from the beginning of summer pre-season to the final whistle of the sectional game. Congratulations Jovany, Alex, Santos, Nate, Austin, Erlin, Ian, George, and Tony on an amazing senior season!
