Anticipation for the first ever boys' home game under the lights had been building since the summer installation of the new lighting at the Bremen Soccer Complex. The intensity of the game was going to be high with a stellar opponent coming to town in the form of the West Noble Chargers. Adding to the suspense was intense heat, causing delays to the JV kickoff and pushing back the start of the Varsity game. With the match finally kicking off at 7:30 pm, it took no time at all for the Chargers to strike first, setting the tone for the game to come. West Noble took a 2-1 lead into halftime after a physical and high-flying first 40 minutes. The Chargers added two more goals quickly after the start of the second half and looked to be cruising to a 4-1 victory. The Lions had a different idea for the game and continued to apply pressure and push for a comeback. Over the next 30 minutes, Bremen would score 4 unanswered goals to take an incredible 5-4 lead with only minutes remaining in the game. The Chargers made a final push and earned a PK to draw the score at 5-5 and create one of the most exciting ties ever played at the Bremen Soccer Complex. It was certainly a memorable first night game for the Lions and demonstrated grit and unity for the matches ahead.
