Bremen Athletics

Once again, Bremen's Nierste Track was the host site for IHSAA Sectional 6 with the Lady Lions of Bremen Track and Field prepped and ready to compete for advancement to the Regional meet hosted by Goshen High School. Using a small army of dedicated workers from the school, the Bremen community, and the boys' team, the meet ran extremely well and was showcased by Sports Michiana whose broadcast allowed for a stellar, all-encompassing look into the sectional meet. When it was all over, Bremen had finished 2nd overall as a team and had moved 4 individuals and 2 relays to the Regional finals. The meet started off with a bang as the girls 4x800 relay of Lola Bender, Grace Moyer, Lauren Hartsell, and Kate Kincaid qualified for the Regional running the 3rd fastest time in school history with a 10:15.59. Emma Kincaid had a stellar sectional performance in her individual events winning the 400 dash in a blazing 58.63, placing 4th in the 100 (receiving a callback to the Regional), and moving on to the Regional in the 200 dash as the 3rd place finisher in the 200 dash. Kate Kincaid was the Sectional champion in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.32. The Feathers girls were both Regional qualifiers as Teagan finished 3rd in the pole vault competition with an 8'6" vault while Skylee finished 3rd in the high jump competition with a 5'1" jump. The 4x400 relay team of Sara Sahlhoff, Lola Bender, Kate Kincaid, and Emma Kincaid were Sectional Champions with a time of 4:07.11, the 3rd fastest time in school history and the 4th fastest qualifying time in the Regional. Other point scorers for the Lady Lions were: 200 dash - Sophia Sahlhoff (8th) 400 dash - Sophia Sahlhoff (7th) 3200 run - Grace Moyer (4th) 4x100 relay - Hannah Van Vuren, Lola Bender, Sophia Sahlhoff, Sara Sahlhoff (7th) PV - Hannah Van Vuren (5th) Disc - Teagan Feathers (6th) The Regional qualifiers will compete at the Goshen High School Regional on Tuesday with the meet starting at 6 pm.
