5/14 - Lady Lions Bats explode for 22 hits & rolls to win – 19-5.

The Bremen Lady Lion softball team traveled to Newton Park in Lakeville to take on LaVille on Thursday night collecting 22 hits and 19 runs. As the Lions did on Tuesday, they started off great with an Eliana Grubbs hit-by-pitch, Isabella Calentine & Lili Cullen had singles, Madi Milleman reached on a fielder’s choice collecting a RBI, Peyton Johnson reached on a hit-by-pitch, Peyton Reed reached on an outfield error scoring Calentine. Makenzie Shumaker singled scoring Johnson. The Lions lead 4-0 after one then added 9 runs in the 2nd inning. After a 1,2,3 third inning, the Lions added 4 runs in the top of the 4th. LaVille got a pair of runs on 4 straight hits in the bottom of the frame. Bremen then added 2 more in the top of the 5th. LaVille took advantage of two Lion errors, and 4 hits to get three runs to make the final score 19-5. Isabella Calentine & Lili Cullen had 4 hits each, Grubbs had 3, Mady Milleman, Peyton Johson, Kenzie Scott, Peyton Reed, Mady Shumaker each had two and Aubri O’Keefe added on hit for a total of 22 Hits. Carter Mason went the distance from the circle allowing 5 runs on 9 hits for the win. WP – C. The winner of the Bremen game will play the winner of Wheeler & Concord at 12:30.
