The Bremen Lady Lion softball team hosted Tippy Valley on Tuesday and couldn’t have started in a better way retiring the first 3 batters Valley sent to the plate in the top of the first. When the Lady Lions stepped in to the batter’s box, Senior Eliana Grubbs lead off with a single, Senior Isabella Calentine doubled home Grubbs. Lili Cullen walked, Madi Milleman laid down a sacrifice bunt, Peyton Johnson reached on an error plating Calentine. Senior Peyton Reed then singled to load the bases. Senior Makenzie Shumaker then hit a deep sacrifice fly to Cullen. Aubri O’Keefe singled in Johnson, Karla Arias walked, then Grubbs Singled in Reed. The Lions took a 5-0 lead into the 2nd. Valley scored 2 runs in the top of the 2ne after a walk T. Caudill homered. The Lions added a run in the bottom of two, after a Peyton Johnson tripled, the scored on Peyton Reed’s 2nd single of the game. That would be all the Lions would get and Valley caught up to Carter Mason’s pitches plating 8 runs in the 3rd & 4th. The Vikings added 3 in the 6th on a Costello 3-run HR. and 4 in the 6th, 3 coming on another Costello 3-run HR. The Lady Lion hits came from Grubbs, O’Keefe, Reed with 2 hits each. Calentine, Johnson, Shumaker each had one hit for the Lions. The Lady Lions face LaVille at Newton Park on Thursday 5/14 -first pitch scheduled for 5:30PM.
