Lady Lions pick up road with against SB Adams – 5-3.

The Bremen Lady Lion softball team travelled to South Bend Clay field to take on the S. Bend Adams Eagles on Friday coming away with a 5-3 victory. The Lions scored 2 runs in the top of the first on an Eliana Grubbs single who advanced on an errant throw. Lili Cullen hit her first double of the night scoring Grubbs. After an out, Peyton Johnson then doubled off the LCF fence scoring Cullen. The Eagles added a run the bottom of the frame cutting Lion lead in half. The Eagles added a run in the bottom of the 4th. The Lady Lions added a pair of runs in the top of 5 after two outs. Isabella Calentine singled, Cullen added her second double in the LF corner plating Calentine who hustled home from first. Mady Mlleman then doubled on the next pitch scoring Cullen. The Eagles took advantage of an error & plated a run in the bottom of the frame to cut the lead to 4-3. Makenzie Shumaker reached on an error, Aubri O’Keefe singled, Eliana Grubbs walked to load the bases & a wild pitch plated Shumaker for a big insurance run. Lexi Mammon picked up the win throwing 4 innings allowing two runs. Carter Mason came in & held the Eagles to 1 run on 2 hits in her 3 innings of work. The Lady Lions face Plymouth at Home on Saturday with a 9am first pitch. The Bremen JV will be playing several innings after the varsity game. WP – L. Mammon – 4P, 2R, 1ER, 5H, 51K, 2BB, C.
