Junior Casey Ton picked up his second conference complete game win in three tries. He ended with three hits allowed and six strikeouts.

On a wet and chilly evening the Bremen Lions downed Knox 11-1, making use of small ball, aggressive baserunning, and a big time outing from junior Casey Ton on the mound. Every Lion hitter either scored or drove in a run, highlighted by a 3-3 game from senior right fielder Jack Wildauer. After a scoreless first inning, Ton set the Redskins down in order during the 2nd. Sophomore SS Aiden Alvarado opened the bottom half with a ringing double to deep left and the Bremen lineup took over from there. Backed by an engaged dugout on a collective mission, the Lions put up six in the inning with the bottom half of the order leading the way. Jace Pippenger doubled home Alvarado, Jack Wildauer singled in Pippenger, and Landon Bates drove in Wildauer before turning the lineup over. A sac bunt by Corban Van Vuren set up another trio of two out RBI singles from Zack Rouch, JJ Cencelewski, and Zack Buszkiewicz. The Lions tacked on three more in the third. Wildauer singled in Pippenger, went first to third on a RBI single by Rouch, then came in to score the ninth Lion run on a fly to center. Bremen's hitters ended the day with only one strikeout, five stolen bases, and 18 combined hits, walks, & HBP. That was more than enough for starter Casey Ton, who took control on the hill and ended with a complete game, only allowing three hits and an unearned run en route to the win. Right fielder Jack Wildauer's outstanding diving catch on a full sprint stifled a fourth inning Redskins rally and kept Ton's pitch count in check. Bremen put the game away in the bottom of the 5th. Wildauer and Landon Bates reached base to open the frame and advanced on Van Vuren's sac bunt. Cencelewski drew a bases loaded walk to bring in the 11th Lion run and end the game. Another great team effort from the entire Bremen roster, as a fired up dugout spurred the lineup and backed the starters with their energy and selflessness. The Lions and Redskins will rematch on Friday, this time in Knox with another 5:30ET first pitch.
