The boys' basketball team lost to Luers on Saturday night in the regional final at Huntington North by a score of 54-51. The Lions battled from start to finish against a very good Luers team but ultimately came up a couple of baskets short of reaching the semi-state. A closely contested first quarter had the Lions trailing by one point, but a strong second quarter from Luers pushed their lead to 29-20 at the break. Early in the third quarter it looked like the game might get away from the Lions, as Luers opened up the half on an 8-0 run and the lead ballooned to 37-20 halfway through the third period. Bremen showed their grit however and went on an incredible run, regaining the lead by the 4 minute mark of the fourth quarter. The team defense stepped up as it had all season, and some incredible shot making keyed the run. Luers responded late, and Bremen was unable to come up with a couple of crucial stops and buckets of their own late in the game, and the Lions season ultimately came to an end. Chase Devine was incredible yet again, scoring a game high 31 points and showcasing his high-level shot making all night. The Lions end the year at 22-5. Scoring for Bremen Chase Devine 31 Riley Tener 8 Espen Simpson 6 Bryce Miller 4 Maddux Hickman 2
