Bremen Athletics

The lady lions 6th grade team traveled to Laville on Saturday for their end of season tournament. The B team played first and got the day started off with a win against North Liberty 13-12 which put them in the championship game. This game was hard fought on both sides to the final whistle. Scoring in the first game was Cami Godoy with 3, Sydney Maggert with 4 and Melanie Aguayo with 6 points. The ladies used great team work and defense. The A team played next also against North Liberty. Despite leading most of the game, the lions fell behind in the 4th quarter and played to the end but couldn't make the come back losing 26-17. The lady lions were led by their top scorers Rose Meister with 7 points and Mila Mckinney with 10 points. This finished off the A team's season and despite only coming away with 1 win, the girls showed tremendous growth throughout the season. The A team consists of Rose, Mila, Emmie Bellman, Nadia Walter, Jayda Griffith, Reese Klotz, Adriana Marsh, Mallee McCray, Lilly Krumrie, and Emma Roberts. In the B championship game, the lions found themselves in trouble when two of the starters, Cami and Melanie, collided on the jump ball, ultimately taking them out of the game. The team rallied behind them but came up short. Scoring for the B team was Lily Seifer and Sydney Maggert each with 2 points and Kensington Ferguson led the way with 4 points. Although the championship didn't go our way, the B team finished with a solid season. Cami, Melanie, Sydney, Lily, and Kensington are joined by Sandra Cruz, Raquel Cruz, Holly Wrightsman, Majellie Sandoval, and Lana Bowker. Both A and B teams showed a lot of growth and team work this season. Congrats ladies!
