The Bremen Girls Basketball team played 2 games in the 2A Frankfort Semi State on Saturday. First, the Lady Lions defeated 2A #6 Lapel 60-43. Lapel got out to a 12-2 start, but Bremen had a strong response, highlighted by a huge Teagan Feathers 3 pointer. Bremen went on to outscore Lapel 22-3 in the 2nd quarter and never looked back. It was a very strong defensive effort from start to finish. Eliana Grubbs led Bremen in scoring with 20 points. Other Scorers were: Emma Kincaid-18, Teagan Feathers-8, Emma Lawmaster-6, Skylee Feathers-6 and Natalie Harmon with 2. In the Semi-State Championship, Bremen fell to Oak Hill 66-57. Down by double figures late in the 2nd half, Bremen battled back and left it all on the floor to get within 2 possessions, but ultimately could not overcome the deficit. Eliana Grubbs led Bremen in scoring with 14 points. Other scorers: Emma Kincaid-13, Emma Lawmaster-13, Skylee Feathers-10, Teagan Feathers-4 and Natalie Harmon with 3. Bremen ends the season with a 24-3 record. We are so proud of this team for their hard work, many accomplishments and high character both on, and off, the court. The coaching staff is extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to coach this group, led by our 4 outstanding seniors. We also want to thank the Bremen community for making the long drive and providing so much support during both games! We truly had a sea of green at Frankfort, and it meant so much to the team to see everyone there. Thank you to our cheerleaders and pep band for making the trip as well! We appreciate everyone who supported us throughout the entire season, as we consistently had some of the best crowds we have seen in a long time.
