Boys Junior Varsity Baseball · JV Baseball Wins 7-4 on Opening Day

The boys JV baseball team opened their season on Tuesday with a 7-4 win over Central Noble.  Defensively, the Lions played a sound game in support of two solid pitching performances.  Starter Reece Greene went three innings and got the win.  Camden Hickman came on in relief and was lights out for two innings.  The game was called due to rain after the top of the 5th inning (qualifies as a legal game).

On the offensive end, a number of players made key contributions throughout the game.  Zander Young got down a squeeze bunt in the 2nd inning to tie the game 2-2.  A.J. Ton and Cody Czarnecki delivered timely hits with runners in scoring position and a clutch RBI double by Marcos Gonzalez extended Bremen’s lead right as the rain began to intensify.

Among other Lions players, Anakin Coffman’s 2nd inning walk sparked the early rally, Kaden Martin played tight defense at second base all game, Justin Davidson reached base and scored in the 2nd, Hunter Miller kept the dugout engaged throughout the game, and Mikal Rogers delivered a big at bat to advance runners who would later come in to score.  Great all around game gentlemen!

The JV Lions will not play until after Spring Break (check Shutterfly for optional practice info).  Upon returning, they will embark on a “road trip” with games at Mishawaka (Mon.), Clay (Tues.), Marian (Wed.), and Oregon-Davis (Sat.)
