The IHSAA and HeadStrong are offering member schools open enrollment in their concussion insurance program. This program was specifically developed to insure high school student-athletes from the high cost of concussion treatment and neurological follow-up. The student-athlete has “first dollar” coverage (zero deductible) for concussion assessment and treatment. Coverage is secondary to any other valid and collectible insurance but will become the primary payer, if no other insurance is available.
The Bremen Athletic Department will pay the entire premium for the HeadStrong Concussion coverage and all Bremen High School athletes participating in a IHSAA sport and cheerleading will be enrolled. THERE IS NO COST TO THE STUDENT FOR THIS COVERAGE.
Program Highlights Include: $0 deductible and no co-pays, tele-med services, no restrictions on specific doctors, no referrals needed, covers $25,000 per injury medical maximum, neurological follow-up care when medically necessary is covered.
The coverage period is October 1, 2018 to October 1, 2019. For more information, please see the following link or call the Bremen Athletic Office: HeadStrong
